The COVID-19 pandemic continues to deeply impact European societies, in particular the most vulnerable and elderly. Migrants and refugees are particularly affected - by border closures, the temporary suspension of resettlement and relocation operations, loss of employment in sectors reliant on migrant labour, and prevention and quarantine measures that have further intensified social isolation amongst asylum seekers, refugees and migrants. Across the EU, the organisations and individuals working with refugees and migrants at regional and local level have adapted their services and support in response to the pandemic, whilst also managing organisational impacts such as reduced funding and staff capacity.
The SHARE Network provides a platform for regional and local actors across the EU to exchange on best practices to address common challenges for refugee and migrant integration and inclusion. For 2020, SHARE is undertaking a renewed mapping of best practice in welcome and integration for migrants and refugees at regional and local level across the EU, with a specific focus on the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and the role of smaller and rural communities. The survey is a core part of SHARE Network mapping for 2020, the outcomes of which will form the basis of SHARE best practice exchange and capacity-building activities in 2020 and beyond. Survey findings will be published and presented by the SHARE Network in November-December 2020, with the aim of highlighting and promoting best practice developed by the organisations and individuals responding to the survey.
SHARE invites you to contribute your knowledge and experience to our 2020 mapping by completing the SHARE Network 2020 survey! The survey can be completed by all those working on welcome and integration in any context in the EU - at local, regional, national, EU and international levels. It has a maximum of 36 questions, and will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The deadline for submitting your survey response is Tuesday October 20, 2020.
All SHARE survey responses are stored and treated confidentially, in line with GDPR requirements and the provisions of ICMC’s Code of Conduct. ICMC Europe will retain your personal information for future SHARE Network contact only where you explicitly agree to this use during completion of the survey.
