ERN+ Resettlement Stakeholder Exchange

The European Resettlement Network project partners IOM, ICMC and UNHCR, in cooperation with the EU-FRANK Project, organised a multilateral stakeholder meeting in Tallin (Estonia) on 4th of December 2017 providing a forum for exchange to support the relevant actors who have recently established a resettlement programme with the aim of contributing to build capacity to increase and improve resettlement efforts and related activities.

Twenty of the main involved stakeholders within the national context (Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, IOM, UNHCR, national and local NGOs, Police and Border Guard Board, representatives from municipalities and reception centres) participated to the meeting and fruitfully exchanged on the practical implementation of the resettlement programme, by analysing recent achievements and activities in the main components of the resettlement programme (identification & selection, pre-departure orientation, health assessments, transport assistance and reception and integration measures for beneficiaries, etc.). The objective was to identify lessons learnt in the national context as well as potential challenges in the implementation of the programme and how to address these going forward.
